Free, private, in your browser

CSV viewer & editor

Spreadsheets without the spreadsheet app. Drop a CSV or TSV file to sort, filter and edit it, check what is in every column, then export it with the delimiter and quoting you need. Big files stay smooth, and everything happens on your device.

Drop a CSV, TSV or TXT file

Delimiter, quotes, header row and encoding are detected for you. The file stays on your device.

More CSV tools

Each one opens in its own page, works the same way (open, drop or paste) and keeps your data in the browser.

Recommended

Two free tools from the people behind CSV Lark that pair well with spreadsheet work.

Temporary email

CleanTempMail

Importing a contact list or testing a sign-up form with the rows you just cleaned? Use a disposable inbox instead of your own address: it is ready instantly, needs no sign-up, and its messages are deleted after three days. Automated tests can create inboxes through the Temp Mail API.

Cloud browser & checks

WebTraceCheck

Got a CSV full of URLs or domains to look at? Open them in a disposable cloud browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave or Chromium on an isolated Linux desktop that is deleted after each session), or run free DNS, redirect and security header checks. Nothing to install.

How to view and edit a CSV file

  1. Open a file, drop it on the box or paste CSV text. Sample data lets you try it first.
  2. Check the detection above the grid: delimiter, quotes, header row and encoding. Change one and the file is read again.
  3. Explore: click a header to sort (again to reverse, a third time to reset), filter rows with the search box, and open Column stats for types, blanks, distinct values and ranges.
  4. Edit: double-click a cell, press Enter or just type. The bar above the grid shows the full value, line breaks included.
  5. Export CSV or TSV with the delimiter, quoting and line endings you need, for the filtered view or every row.

Files are parsed with PapaParse, which handles quoted fields and line breaks inside cells as RFC 4180 describes. Only the visible rows are drawn, so 100,000 rows scroll as easily as 100.

Frequently asked questions

Are my CSV files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and parsed on your device, in a background worker for big files. Nothing you open, paste or edit is sent to a server. Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and never sees your data.

How large a CSV file can it open?

The grid only draws the rows you can see, so scrolling stays smooth with hundreds of thousands of rows. Files of tens of megabytes open comfortably on a typical laptop; the limit is your device's memory.

Which delimiters and encodings are detected?

Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe delimiters, the quote character, and whether the first row is a header. Files are decoded as UTF-8, UTF-16 or Windows-1252, and a byte order mark is removed. You can override every guess.

Can I edit the data and save it?

Yes. Double-click a cell or press Enter to edit it, double-click a header to rename it, and add or delete rows and columns, with undo for every change. Export writes a new CSV or TSV file with your edits.

Why do accented characters look wrong?

The file was probably saved in another encoding, for example Windows-1252 by an older version of Excel. Pick the encoding above the grid and the file is decoded again.
